Government 6-month contract - Rooty Hill - $75-95 p/h + Super

About the Company

We are looking for a HR Officer to join a government department in Blacktown. This is a 6 month contract paying $61.78 per hour + super. This is a hybrid role with flexible work hours.

About the Role

• Ensure that the human resources system documentation (e.g. policies, procedures), are properly administered and communicated
• Maintain knowledge of and provide advice on relevant internal (e.g. procedures, policies etc.) and external (e.g. legislative changes) HR, recruitment and industrial information
• Action all internal and external correspondence and documentation appropriately
• Assist with the development, maintenance and delivery of applicable operational aspects of the Workforce Management Plan
• Support the effective management of HR, recruitment and industrial activities
• Promote and coordinate of recruitment activities
• Assist with the implementation of Council’s annual Employee Development System process.

Skills & Experience

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in an appropriate field - Diploma or above and/ or relevant experience in human resources, recruitment and employee relations
• Demonstrated well developed communication and interpersonal skills, sound analytical and problem solving skills
• Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary human resource practices and current issues 
• Ability work within a small, dynamic and fast-paced team environment

About the Role

• Business Development and client management –  Dealing with your portfolio of clients across your industry to better understand their business/hiring needs to create business opportunities. Clients will include a mixture existing accounts and new business development/cold calling. 
• Take part in daily job catch ups to contribute to team goals. 
• Arrange and attend client meetings, both new and existing relationships including regular contact and follow up opportunities. 
• Establish, grow, and maintain professional working relationships with clients and candidates.
• Provide excellent service to contractors and candidates.
• Conduct interviews, coach and mentor candidates through the process.

About You

• Ideally have over 1 year recruitment experience or sales experience
• Strong interpersonal skills and be willing to contribute ideas to your peers and business leaders.
• Ambitious and motivate to succeed
• Have a service first mind-set and want to be part of a success story
