You will be working for a Local Government authority based in the inner suburbs. You will be joining their strategy, people & culture department.

Initially contracted for 3 months but it could lead to further opportunities. You will be working hybrid, 1-2 days from home.

Your key responsibilities include:  

  • Build upon an existing Workplace Health & Safety framework and strategy
  • Conduct site inspections, manage risk assessments, & conduct training when needed
  • Identify hazards & risks on site and take action to minimise potential harm to personnel
  • Ensuring the workplace is compliant with laws and regulations
  • Managing / Administering the OHS incident reporting
  • Collating and maintaining HSW data to assist with reporting and data analysis.
  • Raising purchase orders and ordering and processing deliveries of HSW-related materials.
  • Updating OHS noticeboards and staff intranet OHS pages.
  • Assist the HSW team with project managing organisation wide improvement initiatives and projects

You will have the following: 

  • Relevant qualifications in OHS
  • Previous experience in an OHS role for a multifaceted organisation
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement
  • Practical knowledge and understanding of underlying principles of OHS and Injury Management/Return to Work (RTW).
